Why Blackjack Remains King

Blackjack is the only casino game where skilled play can reduce the house edge to under 0.5%. At Royal Zuri Casino, we offer both classic and VIP blackjack tables with limits ranging from ₹500 to ₹5,00,000.

Basic Rules Refresher

The goal is simple: beat the dealer's hand without exceeding 21. Face cards are worth 10, Aces are 1 or 11, and all other cards are face value.

  • Hit — Take another card
  • Stand — Keep your current hand
  • Double Down — Double your bet and receive exactly one more card
  • Split — If you have two cards of the same value, split them into two separate hands
  • Insurance — A side bet when the dealer shows an Ace (generally not recommended)

Basic Strategy Chart

Basic strategy is a mathematically optimal decision for every possible hand combination. Memorising the chart reduces the house edge from approximately 2% to about 0.5%. The key decisions:

  • Always split Aces and 8s
  • Never split 10s or 5s
  • Double down on 11 against any dealer card except Ace
  • Stand on hard 17 or above
  • Hit on soft 17 (Ace + 6)

Advanced: Card Counting Concepts

While card counting is not illegal, casinos discourage it. The Hi-Lo system assigns +1 to cards 2-6, 0 to 7-9, and -1 to 10-Ace. A positive running count indicates more high cards remain, which favours the player.

Blackjack rewards patience and discipline. The difference between a winning session and a losing one often comes down to sticking to basic strategy when emotions tell you otherwise.
